Why a Telegram bot
Polymarket is something you check during the day. Telegram is something you have open all the time. If a $50k print hits a Senate special-election market at 11pm or your stop-loss leg lands at 4am, you want to know in the place you already look.
We built the UnusualBets Telegram bot to do exactly two things well:
- Push — bracket lifecycle events, watchlist alerts, and whale-flow prints, delivered the moment they happen.
- Pull — a handful of slash commands so you can manage your trading surface without opening the dashboard.
No groupchat noise, no "join the alpha channel" funnel, no influencer calls. Just the wire from your worker to your phone.
Linking the bot
In the dashboard, open the Telegram menu (top-right) and click Link Telegram. The bot DMs you a six-digit code; paste it back into the app, and you're done. After that, every alert you've enabled in the app's settings also arrives on Telegram. You can mute either channel without touching the other.
What pushes to you
Three event families fire from the worker. Each has a distinct shape so you can tell at a glance what happened:
- Bracket lifecycle. TP filled, SL filled, market resolved before fill, bracket cancelled externally. Every message includes the market question, the trigger price, the filled size, and a one-tap link to the bracket detail.
- Price + watchlist alerts. Soft TP/SL — no fill, just a heads-up that a market you're tracking crossed the price band you set.
- Whale flow. When a print ≥ your $-threshold hits a category you've subscribed to, you get a one-line "$$$ on YES at $0.61, market: …" with the wallet's recent activity attached.
We don't push retries. We don't push the same fill twice. We don't push empty queues. If your phone buzzes, something happened.
What you can ask
The bot is read-only + mute-only for v1. Nine slash commands ship today — anything that moves money stays on the website where we have a wallet signature in the loop.
/help— lists every command with a short description./brackets— your active brackets (active,partial), paginated with inline keyboard buttons./bracket_alerts— per-bracket mute/unmute. No /cancel, no /sell, no /arm. We considered exposing them and
vetoed: a phone left unlocked on a café table would be a
fully-authenticated bot session, and "Send /cancel 1234 to claim your
refund" is one DM away. The website requires a Privy signer on file
before it'll let you place or cancel a bracket; Telegram does not.
What it looks like in practice
A normal day on the bot looks like three to ten messages — most of them in the morning when European markets open and US politics catches up. Bracket fills land in green-dot rectangles ("🟢 Bracket filled — Take-profit hit at $0.70"). Postmortems land in flag rectangles ("🏁 Bracket resolved — we missed your stop-loss by 38¢"). Cancellations land in red-dot rectangles ("🛑 Bracket cancelled — position closed externally").
If you want zero noise, mute everything except bracket lifecycle. If you want the firehose, subscribe to whale flow with a low threshold. Most of our power users sit somewhere in between: bracket lifecycle is always on, whale flow filters to politics + sports at $25k+.
What it doesn't do
We don't sell signals. We don't run a group chat with a "lead trader." We don't trade for you. The bot is a wire from your worker to your phone — that's the whole product. If you want a discretionary trader to tell you what to bet on, this isn't it. If you want your own bracket strategy to actually run while you're at dinner, it is.
